I use Lalilo as a supplement and intervention for my 2nd grade students. I have had a great experience using Lalilo. My students are very engaged and it provides another mode to practice phonics and reading. I like that it provides each student with their own path of learning, so they are practicing exactly what they need.
  • Easy to use for teachers and students.
  • Provides an independent path of learning for each student.
  • Teachers can also assign specific assignments as needed.
  • I have not had any difficulties with Lalilo.
It is great for extra phonics practice and intervention. It is not meant to replace a classroom teacher. It is meant for K-2 students, but can be used for older students who need more practice/intervention.

I use Lalilo as an extra boost of practice for my students who are learning to read. I teach special education, so all of my students have some kind of disability. Lalilo evens out the playing field for my students, who are all able to increase their reading abilities using it. Every student I introduce to Lalilo loves it! I am able to use Lalilo practice as a reward for my students when they finish the regular work in our classroom.
  • Lalilo allows each student to be placed at the exactly right level for their skills.
  • Lalilo makes learning to read fun by using badges that students earn for each skill.
  • Lalilo gives students the ability to request easier or harder lessons based on their current skills.
  • For my lower students, it would be nice to have more practice in alphabetical skills before moving on to reading.
  • Sometimes the sound glitches out and we have to restart the lesson.
Given students whose behaviors can affect their ability to learn, Lalilo is well suited because it allows students to begin at their just right level and move ahead at their own pace. The fun factor is high enough that students stay engaged, even when they might not do so on other learning platforms. Students also enjoy comparing their badges, so for students who are motivated by competition with their friends, this works in their favor.
  • Ease of use
  • Leveling for students
  • Feedback so I can see the exact skills my students are working on
  • For a student who only knew 18 alphabet letters when beginning Lalilo, the student has increased overall performance to recognizing 80% of the "ut" family of words.
  • Students in grades 3 and 5 are increasing their reading levels from K and 1 to the end of year 2.
Lalilo requires more active participation from students than does RAZ. As a teacher, I find that my students are becoming better decoders as a result of using Lalilo for extra reading practice. RAZ allows students to be read to, which my students really like, but Lalilo requires that students put in some work before they earn a story.
Students do not need any training to use Lalilo. As a teacher, I did not need any training, either. It is a simple process to set up and very user friendly. Having used it for almost 2 years now, I have not needed to contact customer service for any issues.

We began using Lalilo as a supplement for our reading program. We now use it for the whole class in both Kindergarten and First Grade. Our students love it and they are so engaged. The badges, treasures and stories are great for motivating our students. Our students use the program at home too. Parents have expressed excitement over this program. Our school love Lalilo!!!!
  • phonics
  • capitalization
  • noun verb agreement
  • so far no complaints
It provides a great phonics reinforcement tool. Due to the pandemic our students have struggled with phonics.
  • It is fun but educational.
  • More entertaining than a worksheet.
  • Easy for the students to navigate.
  • This a school and at this time Lalilo is free. We are considering an upgrade for next year.
Lalilo is fun but there a sense of accountability. It really demonstrates that working hard has its rewards.

While I teach secondary, Lalilo allows my students who are far below grade level to close the gap in their learning. It keeps my students engaged without feeling like they get bored of the learning. I have seen sufficient growth in my students who use it and they have grew in their grade level.
  • Close achievement gap
  • Work with Phonics
  • Engaging

It is well suited for students who are far below grade level and need help with phonics from grade K to second grade. It would not be appropriate for students who are at the third-grade level or higher as it will just be reviewed for those students and they would not be challenged.
  • Achievement gap
  • data
  • engagement
  • Students have shown progress
  • great data
  • parents say they can use it at home as well
We have used iReady and Lalilo helps students specifically in areas of need where as iReady is broad and covers mass surface. Students are able to dive deeper into their learning with Lalilo and it is far more engaging. Students have shown great growth with using the program. I would recommend.

We have started to use the free version of Lalilo with our FAP students. These students are working on material between 1st and 4th grade. Lalilo allows teachers to individualize instruction to meet their needs. It allows our teachers and IAs to move between small groups and individual progress to permit more time for student interaction and more pointed direct instruction
  • Differentiate Instruction
  • Pinpoint areas of need for students
  • Engaging for our struggling learners
  • Allows students to progress/work on skills that they need
  • More engaging sounds/badges for older learners
  • Questions/Topics related to older students
I think that Lalilo is a beneficial program for elementary students and middle school students who have significant deficits. It provides pointed instruction and skill-based measurement which allows teachers to quickly gauge student progress and measure what standards and/or skills need to be retaught/revisited with individuals or across a class.
  • Differentiation for students
  • Less prep for teachers
  • Allows instructional assistants to better assist individual students
  • We have seen tremendous growth with some of our students
  • Growth in lagging skills for students (close the gap)
Lalilo is a helpful program for our struggling readers. It gives an alternative to LLI, SRA, or OG - which are all utilized within our elementary settings
