Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Work

I use 8x8 Work to connect with employees, colleagues, clients and potential clients to communicate, do intake calls, book assessments and to address issues. As we are a care company, there are quite a few calls daily as well as overnight during our on-call hours. I have also used the text option, but not very frequently.

Pros

  • Voicemail dictation
  • Call identification
  • Relatively lag-free

Cons

  • As with all Voip providers, call quality can be an issue
  • Allowing for the ability to block callers would be an asset
  • Better support options
  • The 8x8 Work call report is very useful. We have been able to increase our answered calls from 68% to 82% in a month by reviewing the report as a team on daily huddles.
  • 8 out of 10 calls I have with potential customers have a good to excellent call quality. Much better than RingCentral in my experience.
  • The interface works well which in turn allows for robust communication within the team and organization.
I give the rating of 8 because for two reasons. Firstly, although the call quality of 8x8 Work is superior to at least one competitior, it is still an issue. Secondly, not having the ability to block numbers has meant that a caller who has called in multiple times for a matter unrelated to the running of my business has pre-occupied my staff's time that could have been utilized more effectively in other areas of the business.
As I have stated earlier, the quality of 8x8 Work surpasses that of RingCentral in my experience. The call quality is superior, the reports that I have seen are better and more robust and the support in the few times I have needed it has been better than that of RingCentral.

Having used RingCentral in the past, I find that 8x8 Work overall is a better VoIP calling option. I have not been able to acces the dashboard yet so I reserve judgement on that until I have had a chance to use it, but all in all I am happy with my 8x8 Work experience. As mentioned earlier, my only criticism is that call quality can be an issue sometimes.
