Overall Satisfaction with 8x8 Work

Since our office went 100% during COVID, all employees have used the 8x8 Work application on their computers and phones. We have between 20 and 50 employees online at any given time. The apps function as both phone and fully functional chat systems. However, audio for the video conference feature only works well when users have headphones with dedicated microphones.

Pros

  • Chat functionality.

Cons

  • Audio for video conferencing requires headphones, or else massive feedback occurs.
  • Employees can work 100% remotely without any drop in productivity.
  • Service and support departments work well with a combination of call loops and call queues.
The 8x8 service has boosted productivity and allowed for a 100% remote work environment. Before 8x8, our phone system was more expensive and had fewer features, and it made employees dependent upon sending mass amounts of emails to each other for the simple task of ending a link or a message. The call queues and loops have made it easy for service and support departments to distribute calls evenly.
  • Spectrum Business (part of Charter Communications)
8x8 is hands down better in every aspect. Setup for Spectrum was a nightmare, and it took weeks of dedicated engineers designing the system and then having to go back and tweak it after putting it to use. 8x8 met with us once, set up the system, and then I was able to administer it without any issues. Adding, removing, and editing features are all simple through the admin console. Support and billing are very responsive as well.

International calls are included since the system is VoIP. The apps are straightforward to use, and our receptionist, who doesn't learn new technologies very well, has become very proficient. The chat system is great for all users to quickly send links and messages without having to email. The call queues and call loops are great for support and service departments.
