Overall Satisfaction with ActiveCampaign

I have used ActiveCampaign for email campaigns with follow-up forms, automations from website-based forms flowing from ads or research, and generally managing mailing lists. The design flexibility of the forms and the emails allowed me to make a professional impression when contacting people or when they responded to an ad. The automations also worked very well, and were easy to monitor progress.
  • The graphic design is very good, especially fonts, colours and templates
  • Flexibility of design and functionality
  • Takes a little while to learn it, but generally user-friendly
  • Looks very professional but doesn't cost much to get started
  • There are masses of integrations for ActiveCampaign, and the ones I tried all worked well and didn't take long to figure out.
  • It took me a while to get to understand where to find things, and I used a free online course from a consultant who specialises in AC to help me get the foundations set up more easily. That said, there were lots of onboarding workshops, which were good. It just felt like it required a lot of different angles of learning to just get started.
  • The customer support took longer than other software to get back to me via email, though once I found the chat option for my most recent query, that was fast.
  • I've ended up switching to another programme where more software is more naturally integrated, and the AC equivalent is included in the price, along with many other types of software. However, design-wise, ActiveCampaign is much better.
  • I also had a problem with a form used on my WordPress website, which has a BuddyBoss platform - the colours on the form would be overridden by colour choices for the website, so they were hard to read (pink text on purple background instead of the gold text it was meant to be)
  • I couldn't always find the templates I was looking for or how to access them for automation-based emails. I think when I used it, there was a new type of template for newsletters that weren't available for automations, so I had to recreate it, which added time.
  • I made a good impression a few people and got some responses
  • It led to a lot of spam, which has probably produced bad ratings for my email address
  • It got me started with marketing so that I could expand my mailing list a bit
I moved to Zoho Campaigns and Zoho CRM on the basis that they were integrated with a wider package, but the graphics and fonts are far better with ActiveCampaign. Zoho Campaigns didn't even integrate as well with Zoho Forms as expected, and I missed a bunch of responses. ActiveCampaign is easier to set up notifications if you get a response, so it was better to use that way too. The only drawback was that some of the other software I was integrating AC with required more expensive versions to be able to integrate, so it was expensive overall.

Do you think ActiveCampaign delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with ActiveCampaign's feature set?

Yes

Did ActiveCampaign live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of ActiveCampaign go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy ActiveCampaign again?

Yes

I think ActiveCampaign is very useful for setting up newsletters, forms, and automated responses that are nicely branded, with good functionality. It's also useful if you are starting small and want something both inexpensive to get started but also very scaleable as you grow. Do use the double security because I got a lot of spam through forms, even with a captcha.
