Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Photoshop

Our small communication team utilizes Adobe Photoshop, as well as our IT director. We mainly use it in creating designs for graphic-based social media posts and marketing emails, and most especially for editing photos for use in publications, including social media, our quarterly magazine, and letters that go out multiple times a year to our supporters, alumni, churches, and donors.
  • Ease of cropping and resizing photos is the biggest use for me, even though it's a robust program capable of a lot more than that! I manage our social media accounts using a social media scheduling tool that requires images to be under 10MB. Photoshop makes it easy for me to quickly resize our high res photos to constraints that fit for this platform.
  • Image retouching is pretty synonymous with Photoshop, but it is still worth highlighting. It is great for quick fixes even if you don't have a ton of knowledge with image editing software. We mainly use it for brightening photos for our print publications, as well as smoothing out any minor flaws in photos, such as missing patches in grass.
  • It sounds silly, but Photoshop makes it easy for me to find the HEX codes I need for use in HTML. Sometimes I need specific colors for our website and marketing mails, and it's easy to find any color in the world I want and quickly grab the HEX that corresponds with it.
  • It would be great if the toolbar was a little more intuitive and detailed, especially for new users. It takes some time to figure out what button serves what purpose, but this is honestly a very minor "downside" to have. There are lots of YouTube videos and other completely free resources to help get a better grasp of Photoshop.
  • Our social media numbers have significantly grown since we have been very intentional about the content of our posts, and that includes images that we have used Photoshop to optimize.
  • Our magazine goes out to more than 50,000 people a year. Photoshop and other Adobe products help keep these images looking great.
I like Canva a lot and do use it for some graphics we use on social media, but Adobe Photoshop is definitely better suited to editing actual images and getting them appropriately sized and colored for our website, social media, print publications, and more. They are both great tools that I utilize, sometimes in conjunction together.
I have never had to reach out to Adobe for support regarding Photoshop, but I have no reason to doubt it would be anything but excellent. There are clear communication channels to use if an issue arises, and I feel that I can trust Adobe to get the job done.

Photoshop is a must-have tool for my organization. Social media is huge for my department, and Photoshop streamlines that process so much by allowing us to easily resize and crop images for optimal viewing on social media. Different platforms sometimes call for different constraints, especially Instagram. Photoshop makes it easy to keep things looking great across all different mediums. It's also a must-have for our print publications, particularly in conjunction with Adobe InDesign.

Using Adobe Photoshop

3 - We are a small Marketing/Communication team at a private university. We utilize Photoshop primarily for social media, website imagery, a quarterly magazine, and some smaller print media pieces throughout the year. I use Photoshop largely for resizing and cropping images, as well as some minor graphic work, while my two co-workers go more in depth while using Photoshop for lighting adjustments and retouches.
We do not have anyone on-site for Adobe Photoshop support. To date, we generally turn to YouTube tutorials when we need help with something! It is a complex tool and one I have barely scratched the surface on, but it is easy to grasp the basics and there is plenty of room for growth if you're willing to dedicate the time to learn.
  • Image Cropping/Resizing: This is the most important thing for me. I am able to quickly resize and crop images for social media as well as our website while preserving quality.
  • Graphic Design: We often use Photoshop to create graphics for social media as well as for email marketing.
  • Touch ups/Recoloring: We use Photoshop to enhance the lighting on images and perform touchups when necessary.
  • The biggest use has been social media for me. It's been a game changer to have high quality images on our social outlets while being able to specifically size them across all mediums.
We are on a monthly subscription for Photoshop and I cannot see that changing anytime soon. It is affordable and helps us immensely in optimizing images for social media, our website, and in some print media publications as well.
