Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Premiere Pro
I use Premiere Pro for a non-profit organization for regular announcement videos, editing/encoding for online postings, promotional videos, and commercials. I already use Adobe software for graphics, photos, sound engineering, and animation, so the ability to work seamlessly between programs is a huge time saver. The cloud application also makes it easy to work across multiple computers.
- Timeline organization.
- File & resource management.
- Advance in-program audio editing.
- Occasional .prproj errors (inability to open).
- Relatively difficult setup for 3rd party audio plugins.
- Dynamic linking system is often slow.
- Adobe File Integration
- Flexibility in export formatting.
- Media Encoder's ability to export multiple versions/formats of the same project.
- Time saving from ease of use.
- Ability to use 3rd party plugins (Vimeo) have made uploading easy in the past.
- Flexibility for multiple format footage makes editing easy.
Each editor has its pros and cons. I tend to not like node-based editing, so the sliders, faders, and effects that I feel comfortable with in Photoshop and other similar programs are reflected in PPs UI. The more recently added hardware acceleration makes editing RAW 4K footage manageable without proxy encoding. The biggest plus is the ability to use other Adobe files without additional exporting.
