Overall Satisfaction with ADP Workforce Now

We have tried to implement it across the whole organization for a company intranet portal to keep folks updated on company events, etc. We have used the talent sections for all employees and the system is clunky and hard to navigate often with many technical hiccups. It was put in place to address our concerns around performance management but it has just been a very expensive payroll processing tool.

You have to buy the total package otherwise you are doing a ton of administrative work pushing changes through manually. This applies to Workforce Now's tech-only platform. What I find most frustrating is the archiving of employees where if you terminate them, they still do not come off your bill but you have to do a few extra steps. Every time, it is a different issue. Then you have to unarchive them when its time to process W-2's so yet another charge. We had years of charges for employees who had been terminated as far back as 2014 when I started in 2019. This was thousands of dollars lost by our organization due in part to lazy hr staff from months past and possibly a lack of training from ADP on everything that they had to do. It's like running all the back-end tech stuff by yourself.
  • Payroll.
  • Learning module.
  • Tech and system functionality.
  • Negative - Too much time doing back-end corrections to avoid errors and additional fees.
  • Payroll processing is easier and ties in with electronic time cards.
Scalability is good. When I was at another organization we grew tremendously within the first 2 years from 23 employees to about 80+ and the system worked flawlessly on comprehensive services. I am not sure about what I have at my current organization as we have always been an organization of no more than 46 employees.
ADP is definitely the best option of their competitors but it is still a system that needs work to be great or to really get business from other providers. The ROI isn't visible on specific ADP modules (tech only) but maybe on comprehensive services, the comp learning module is decent.
ADP is good for payroll processing and timekeeping and terrible at most everything else. Customer service is hit or miss. Sometimes you will get a rep who loves their job and will work to fix the issue for you and identify the root cause and ensure it is fixed going forward. Other times, you get an inexperienced rep who "fixes" something to rush you off the phone and then 2 weeks later when you try to duplicate it, you find they did nothing to avoid the issue from reoccurring.
