Overall Satisfaction with Airtable

We're using Airtable to consolidate multiple data sources across our organisation, into one centralised repository. Within our organisation, we have many data stores, in different formats, and in some cases duplicate data. Using Airtable has allowed us to develop a far more manageable data infrastructure. In addition, Airtable integrates (through Zapier) with a host of other apps to enable a new level of automation within our business. The flexibility of Airtable has allowed us to develop bespoke data structures that can be adapted as our business grows and our requirements change.
  • Flexibility: Airtable is insanely flexible, nearly any existing data structure can be replicated and tailored to our requirements.
  • Ease of use: Even though it's very powerful, Airtable is very easy for anyone in our organisation to use.
  • Automated formula fields: Using the formulas available, we can quickly summarise data without writing bespoke code.
  • Kanban views: are really simple to setup and provide a whole new dimension to the platform, allowing us to use Airtable for CRM and project management.
  • Limited export functionality: Although Airtable will do nicely for most of our requirements, sometimes we need to export data for analysis in other platforms. Export functionality is not particularly developed and there's scope for improvement. The API provides an option, but requires our developers to write custom code which is not ideal. Having an option to easily export into formats like MySQL, JSON etc would be great.
  • The documentation is ok, but could be better. The core functions of Airtable are covered but don't show Airtable off to its full potential. More detailed examples and case studies of what is possible would be good.
  • The ability to create summary pages or dashboards would be a big plus, though I believe this is already in beta.
  • When we started to consolidate our data sources we looked at many well known CRM and data management systems. None of them matched our bespoke requirements perfectly. We felt we needed to spend a lot of money not only on licensing but also on additional development. Then a member of our team suggested Airtable - it costs very little and we can tailor it easily to match our requirements. Airtable has saved us a lot of money and probably a lot of time too.
  • Over the longer term, Airtable will allow us to eliminate our reliance on many other systems, saving us money and reducing our staff training requirements.
  • By integrating with Airtable (through Zapier) with other systems, we've been able to automate several key tasks, reducing the administrative burden on our team.
Airtable is ideal for creating data structures to support most activities and linking data together to reduce replication. It sits nicely between a basic spreadsheet and high-end CRMs or bespoke database systems. If you're looking to quickly create data structures that are flexible and adaptable then Airtable is your ticket - you can get started (and sometimes finished) in minutes. If you're looking for a system to present data in a highly visual way (e.g. sales summaries with lots of charts etc.), then Airtable isn't quite there yet.
