Overall Satisfaction with Airtable

Airtable is a tool that's approachable for all stakeholders. It gives a means to create custom automations with easy-on-the-eyes labeling for those who only want a view-only option to make prioritization decisions. Plus, being a web-based software, it can be used for on-the-go events and from mobile. Our team uses it as a source to receive form entries and then prioritize.

Pros

  • Easy to manuever filters for large data sets
  • Automations and routing for table records
  • Labeling and prioritization that many teams can access

Cons

  • Challenging to resize when there are many columns across device types
  • Troubleshooting automations can take more time than expected
  • Kanban view leaves something to be desired; won't ever be Jira/Confluence
  • Decrease time to implemented shared dashboards
  • Decrease training time to use a new tool; intuitive flow for first time users
  • Decrease time in using a data lake or other Snoflake-like solutions to create a data pipeline
IMO the usability of this product is its greatest asset. The UI is clean and the menus are intuitive to the point where I'd feel confident having a non-spreadsheety colleague take on building an Airtable for the first time with next to no training. I can't say that about every table-like software product that I've used such as Notion.

Do you think Airtable delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Airtable's feature set?

Yes

Did Airtable live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Airtable go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Airtable again?

Yes

Airtable is well suited for cross-functional teams who all have an interest in data site - it's democratizing who owns data. Especially if there will be a need to add input on a cell-level basis view comment functionality with the expectation of @mentioned parties respond. Airtable is less suited for teams who need to run functions, jobs, and macros across a data set; they're best suited for Excel.
