Overall Satisfaction with Airtable

We use Airtable for many tasks, including:
1. Registration, email communications, and check-in for events
2. Tracking budgets
3. Tracking inventory and multimedia assets
4. Contacts/Mailing List
5. Project Management

Pros

  • Organization of Information and flexibility to customize it
  • There are so many automations that save time
  • Once you learn it, Airtable is easy - and fun - to use

Cons

  • Getting "bases" to "talk" to each other (aka sync data)
  • Forms lack some functionality and options that dedicated form creation software platforms have
  • It can take some time to learn how to create bases and set up automations
  • Figuring out the coding to input to run processes can be challenging, especially for users with no coding experience.
  • Reduced the amount of software programs we use
  • Saves time from manual and repetitive tasks
  • Excellent value for money given all its functionality and versatility
AirTable is awesome and you can get up and running on the first day with a basic base. It takes a bit of time to wrap your head around how AIrTable works but, once you do, you won't want to use Excel or Google Sheets again. If you have folks on your team who know some coding or Excel formulas, then you can create all sorts of automations with your data. If you don't have these skills, the automations feature is straightforward and with some trial and error, you can almost always figure it out. Overall, AirTable has been a game changer, even for team members who are resistent to change or trying/learning new software.
AirTable does a great job at Project Management. You can easily create tasks and set up reminders, including automated reminder emails, when deadlines draw near. You can group the tasks and can also group tasks in a variety of ways (not started, pending, completed or assigned/unassigned, etc.). You can upload assets and comment on tasks as well. AirTable goes beyond what Google Sheets can do, even for casual users. For example, for event, you can create a record for each invitee and track their actions across multiple events without having to refer to multiple spreadsheets or tabs. Cvent is robust and can be complicated to figure out. AirTable simplifies the same processed that Cvent cumbersomely does.

When it comes to event planning, Airtable has saved so much time. We are able to quickly set up registration forms with automated and customized email templates. Then, on the backend, we are able to track RSVPs, make notes, assign roles, check folks in, etc. If we want to send further communication, that is easy to do as well. Checking folks in at events is quick and easy. AirTable is a multi-purpose software that can simultaneously served many needs, from events planning and management to budgeting to reporting on metrics.
