Overall Satisfaction with Ascentis HR

We use Ascentis daily for Employee tracking: Personal, job, training, benefit and salary information. We use it to search for information, track employee details and run reports for our various County purposes.
  • User friendly screens that make it easy for someone new to learn Ascentis
  • Great reporting features; you can create reports to pull information for any needs
  • Plenty of webinars to help you learn new skills
  • Email support; not very responsive on emails (phone support is great, though)
  • I am new to this department and I have heard that our service rep for our group is not very responsive to our needs
  • There were issues with passwords and them linking, but the phone support group has been able to help clean this up for us.
  • It has helped us to reduce the amount of paper we have to keep in our files
  • Huge time saver for us as we can look up EE current and past history quickly without having to dig through files
  • It allows us to track training/certification/licensing requirements as needed with the reporting services
The old systems from years ago were very basic and did not allow for the complex, personalized reporting that Ascentis now allows

I have had multiple experiences with calling Ascentis for help and my problem was solved immediately. If I have questions or need help with data entry or a feature, I call the toll free number and can get help. When we email for support, we rarely get responses, and when we do, they don't initially solve the problem.
Ascentis truly helps with all of our HR needs and can let us track items down to the smallest of details. I am new to learning the complexities of this system and am able to add/enter/change information as needed.

One are that is a struggle is having to add new information, it is easy to accidentally change existing information which is a problem for a new user. If you start to change anything on an individuals screen, you have to select "new" or "change" to get a new screen. If you don't, you're basically changing existing data that is supposed to stay there as past history. Very scary to navigate and not change information accidentally. Existing data in system should be locked and come up with a warning "are you sure you want to change this?"
