Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence
We use it to note product updates, product information, sprint reviews for the product, and also techniques and procedures dealing with our analysis of data within our product. We also update pages with relevant news.
- Allows you to share through JIRA and Hipchat
- It's a good place for documentation, similar to Evernote (and ability to easily share that documentation)
- Gives flexibility with editing pages and documentation using html
- It's inflexible when it comes to how to create tables and sort information based on those tables
- There's no great way to easily integrate Google calendar
- Using this as an internal resource site is great for our organization, but the buy-in is product management/engineering team specific and other teams prefer easier, more attractive user interfaces for that purpose
- I think that it's great for our engineering team but I'm unaware of the ROI as a whole.
We really only use Confluence because we use JIRA and Hipchat and it seemed to work well within the suite of Atlassian products. I would personally prefer a custom made internal website for our organization plus the integration of google docs/hangouts (or the use of something like Slack) and Evernote.
