Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Confluence

Confluence is being used by one of our main clients to manage documentation and assets. We have many developers using Confluence documents for communication and organizing agile practices. It solves problems of teams not being co-located and helping with communication across physically divided teams. When the research group completes user studies they post them on confluence so all can access them.
  • Organizes critical business documentation
  • Gives access to knowledge to whoever needs it
  • Collaborating with multiple teams
  • It has a decent learning curve getting people accustom to using it.
  • Interface could use improvements
  • Finding documents can sometimes be difficult if you forget their name.
  • Increased transparency
  • One more thing to update
It's a more robust solution with a lot of features, yet with that comes more complexity.
Confluence is great in assisting to create transparency in an organization by having a place to post important documents or meeting notes that anyone with access can view and comment on. I would say the largest downside is getting people in the origination into a habit of using the software on a daily basis.
