Overall Satisfaction with Avalara

Our company uses it to file and pay motor fuel taxes. It is only used by the tax department. This software ensures we are compliant across the US. It is one of the only software on the market for fuel tax compliance.

Pros

  • Calculates tax well
  • Imports data to create and complete returns
  • Throws good parties for like minded individuals to collaborate

Cons

  • Very little improvement needed
  • Ensure return capability at the local levels/jurisdictions
  • Market new products regularly
  • Hours are reduced for compliance due to the software
  • The use of the software has reduced headcount
  • The value of the software compared to the cost is worth it
A third-party provider to implement was used. It was good to have a neutral knowledgeable provider to resolve a dispute and to discuss business practices.
It is very simple to use and to make changes. Very user-friendly.
We don't have a need for these additional services. However, many industries need this and it's good that Avalara is a one-stop shop for all your tax needs.
I think all have their own good points. I think Avalara should partner with a rate provider.
Avalara ensures the return process is seamless and without bugs or errors. The customer service brought on by the sales team is like no other. They have the most knowledgeable staff on a variety of issues.
