Overall Satisfaction with Basecamp
We wanted to use Basecamp primarily as a singular hub for all of our remote work. We mainly use it as a project and task tracker, idea board, document dump, and chat. It helped us transition smoothly to remote work as we are able to coordinate ideas, tasks, and documents in one place across various departments with varying levels of tech savviness.
- Ease of use
- Simple and clear layout
- One tool for almost everything
- Not good for complicated projects
- No dependency tracking
- No subtasks
- Slow to load
- Delayed or missing notifications
- It is certainly much better than having just a group chat
- Works particularly well with lower-level, less tech savvy users
- Makes collaboration more organized
- Can be expensive for very small teams
Basecamp is simple to understand, easy to use, and does not come with the bloat and complications of a solution like Teams. It is certainly more organized and easy to follow than simply having a group chat on Slack and Viber. If you need to easily find information, it can be done on Basecamp.
