Overall Satisfaction with BigCommerce
There are certain products in our mix that lend themselves to online selling. So we created an online store specifically for those products since the purchasing decisions are often made outside our call pattern. We started with another well-known online host over two years ago, however, they did not understand our industry and posed limitations on what we could list. BigCommerce has made it easy for us to properly list our products, provides an excellent app for our eBay gateway, and provides an excellent, seamless shipping application. The help chat is very good, and they are able to resolve all issues that I may have.
- Communicates with users via monthly webinars with updates and future plans.
- Flexible options for product, order and customer listings as well as for checkout and payments.
- Need a more robust product quote app selection for customers to request a product quote from the product listing. Also needs to provide the option of the user to create a separate product quote to the customer.
- The product bulk editor is great, however, it would be nice to have a pull-down menu that is populated with additional editing solutions.

I use the following apps:
1. To integrate product inventory, sales and COGS with my company accounting, I use the QuickBooks Online to BigCommerce app.
2. For SEO optimization, I use FavSEO, which integrates with the BigCommerce product metadata seamlessly.
3. For shipping integration, the best app is BigCommerce Shipping. It seamlessly integrates all orders and prepares them for shipping by printing labels, provides shipper selections, pre-set packaging selections and automatic email tracking notification to customers
4. Most of our sales have been from eBay. The eBay by InkFrog app has been crucial to this success. It automatically integrates all changes made to BigCommerce products and makes corresponding changes in the eBay listings.

BigCommerce is a lot more flexible and innovative. Even though Shopify, at the time offered more free apps and themes than BigCommerce, all the other features of BigCommerce outweighed those concerns. Shopify at the time did not have the monthly webinars that BigCommerce has. It's a great way to know the BigCommerce staff and to listen to their innovations and adaptations based on user input.

Evaluating BigCommerce and Competitors
Yes - We replaced Shopify with BigCommerce. We found that Shopify was not as responsive and actually prevented us from listing products since we are a surgical equipment dealer. They felt that anything with "medical" in the name needed FDA documentation. We provided them with our vendor's (the manufacturer's) documentation, but that did not seem to matter. Converting to BigCommerce from Shopify was extremely easy. Everything imported.
I would not change it.
