Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use RENXT to manage and review constituents as well as track proposals and develop new reporting data. The product also offers a suite of communication and marketing tools that we are beginning to explore, as well as event management. This tool also provides a customized donation form builder that can link directly to a blackbaud merchant account.

  • We haven't seen anything outside of our normal growth since adding NXT to our suite
We have since been able to weed out a large number of our inactive donors. We have also been able to fill a multitude of blanks in our historical data such as birth dates, death dates, spousal names, family names, and more. We have also been able to visualize more connections and possibilities with NXT which cannot be done in RE7.
  • Online Training
The trainings are instructor-led, but online. They do a good job of being engaged with the audience and addressing all questions that are entered into the chat, but I feel that sometimes they are limited to a certain schedule, and because of this things can be dropped from the training that would otherwise be important pieces of information to know. I would also prefer an on-camera option because I make lots of expressions but don't always type my questions into the chat box because the instructor will be onto the next point.
My first choice would be Blackbaud RE7 over NXT. I believe firmly that the regular database is still much more capable in terms of data capturing and management. However, from a data visualization standpoint, NXT takes the win. I also believe that Luminate Online still holds a higher power over NXT when it comes to direct Email marketing and Donation Form design and implementation as well as integration into the RE7 database.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is best suited for a non-profit development and fundraising scenario. As long as you also have the accompanying RE7 database as well, NXT provides a succinct glimpse into constituent, gift, and fund data for staff members who would like to be able to see and report on this data, but would not like to make changes. NXT is not appropriate for any sort of data entry or management, as it is not fully capable of capturing what can be captured in the regular database view of RE7.
