Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT

We use it primarily as our donor database and CRM email tool. It helps us track engagements and commitments to and from donors. Like all tools, if you do most of your work on the front end, it really lifts you up on the back end. The prospecting and insights tools also help lead to fruitful conversations. If you maintain a clean database as well it pays off in dividends with accuracy and professionalism from your donor's perspective.

The largest impact is for the ability to come armed with information prior to an ask. It also helps track our year over year performance and be sure we are tracking to goals when it comes to donor acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. I thoroughly appreciate how many of its data reports are automated.
  • Online Training
It's extremely self-guided. The knowledgebase is free and accessible, but you pretty much have to stumble into whatever it is you are looking for. Their training curriculums are always expensive and overpriced in my opinion. Training is where Raiser's Edge has the most to improve on. Every time you reach out to a customer support rep too, they try and upsell you on training.
Our organization has been using Raiser's edge for a very long time. The continuity of forty years of data provides a lot of inertia to move to a new product. I am concerned about the switch to purely NXT. I am hopeful that they will keep as much functionality as they say they are going to.

If you are going to use it as a donor database and prospecting tool it is well worth the higher cost compared to other Donor Management tools. But, if you are simply using it as a tracking tool for gift processing, it is probably more than what the average user would need.
