Overall Satisfaction with Brightpearl
Brightpearl is being used across our entire organization for Inventory Management, Order fulfillment, Marketing, Accounting, and CRM purposes.
Pros
- Inventory Management - it's good, flexible, and robust...as long as you don't need to deal with fractional quantities.
- Accounting - it's great because with Brightpearl being an ERP, it is fully integrated and minimizes the effort needed for this facet of the business.
Cons
- Technical integrations could be improved. For example; Xero allows for direct connectivity to a wide array of online financial service accounts(banks, paypal, etc). Brightpearl is lacking in this arena, which means manual csv exports and imports must be done to pull transactional data into BP.
- Fractional quantities are not handled well by Brightpearl's inventory management module. This is problematic for any manufacturer of goods comprised of quantities which are not whole numbers. This really needs to be addressed.
- The UI could be updated to more modern standards, but it's not terrible.
- Brightpearl has allowed us to get a handle on inventory, which was a major blind spot for us in the past. And it does not even require a single full time position to manage. It's pretty great, even with the fractional quantity workaround we had to implement.
- The Accounting module is huge for us and is something of a love it and hate it situation. We love the integrated nature of it and how much time it saves us, but then we hate the lack of integrations and how much extra time is required because BP can't connect and automatically pull in data from external sources.
Brightpearl is head and shoulders above all of these. We selected BP due to the robustness of its feature set and the vision of its roadmap.
