Easy to use Visual Testing Solution
Overall Satisfaction with BrowserStack
Visual testing with Percy by BrowserStack was easy to get started with. It was helpful for automating front end tests and save time.
Pros
- Easy to use. Documentation was sufficient
- Basic plan free plan was accessible
Cons
- Reviewing many test results on Percy by BrowserStack can be tedious. No easy test overview suits my needs.
- Updating visual tests on Percy by BrowserStack, adding or deleting region annotations can be slow or buggy.
- Percy by BrowserStack visual testing
- improving test coverage on front end applications
- Reducing complexity and time spent on test creation
- Positive: Less time maintaining test code after front end changes.
- Negative: more time maintaining visual test region/annotations after front end changes.
There was a clear limitation on testing front end without using visual testing tools. Some parts of the application were not easy to test using selenium and python. Some elements were difficult to identify and check using selenium python. Visual testing with Percy by BrowserStack reduces the complexity with identifying and checking visual elements.
- Percy
Percy by BrowserStack is used for running visual tests which are used regularly for testing our new releases
- Applitools and LambdaTest
Percy by BrowserStack was a bit easier to use and more technically advanced than LambdaTest visual testing tools. I also felt Percy by BrowserStack was more commonly used and trustworthy of a product.
Applitools was the most technically advanced for visual testing but prohibitively expensive would be limited in monthly quotas.
