Overall Satisfaction with BrowserStack
BrowserStack allows us to test websites and web-based software across a full range of browsers and devices that is not practical for us to do so in other ways, ensuring issues are found before going into production.
Also we use it to investigate specific customer issues that might be affecting a certain browser version or operating system.

Pros
- Quick start up of browser on real devices
- Remembering recent sessions
- Full range of devices and operating system versions
Cons
- Session time outs are sometimes a bit quick
- Multiple device in parallel sometimes crashes
- Testing on real devices not just emulators
- Dev Tools inspection
- Remembering sessions
- Much more affordable than having multiple real devices
- Better customer service rather than having clients test if a fix has worked for their device
We struggled to debug issues only affecting older devices, previous browser versions, specific Android devices or particular versions of MacOS.
Android users would find it difficult to test on iOS and vice versa.
Testing mobile device layouts (including keyboard interactions on various OS interfaces) is more difficult just using browser Dev tools, whereas BrowserStack uses real devices.

- Live
- Accessibility Testing
Live allows us to perform manual testing across real desktop & mobile browser combinations. We can test on our staging servers before pushing new features to production.
The Accessibility Testing Chrome browser extension allows us to analyse our web pages for accessibility issues and generate reports for our team to address.

N/A - BrowserStack was the first software I've tried to address these requirements.
Previously we've been limited to testing on a handful of devices and browser combinations that our team has physical access to.
We're also evaluating Litmus as a complementary service to BrowserStack for analysing our email templates and deliverability.
