Camtasia is our workhorse.
Overall Satisfaction with Camtasia
- Across the organization - nearly all internal videos are created and edited with Camtasia. It is an internal training tool - we use it to record and edit sales presentations, technical training, animate slide decks, and so forth.
- We also edit external videos (pulled from Youtube or our call recording software) in Camtasia.
- Videos created in Camtasia are critical in holding the attention of our internal staff.
Pros
- Easy video recording
- Easy editing to create polished and professional videos- much easier than any other package
- Fairly sophisticated effects
Cons
- I would like more functionality around the library
- Better in-app audio editing - sometimes, I use Audacity to augment what Camtasia can do.
- I wish I could adjust the black background.
- Positive - we have more productive sales training and enablement because of Camtasia.
- It's easier to get Sales' attention with well-edited videos.
- It's more effective at training people to change their message, etc.
- They are similar products. For someone devoted to video-editing, Captivate might be a better choice - it has a bit more functionality but is harder to learn and use.
- The last time I used Captivate, it couldn't handle a multi-screen setup, which was a deal-breaker for us, and we switched to Camtasia and never looked back.
