Overall Satisfaction with Catchpoint
We use Catchpoint to monitor websites and web services, both on the public internet and within our own private space. We are an online e-commerce platform so the ability to see detailed waterfall views of page objects, loading times, 3rd party integrations is a must. We also have a robust alerting system built around Catchpoint that relies on quick action and maximum uptime.
Pros
- web object monitoring
- alerting
- smart boards and trends over time
Cons
- UI interface is a little confusing
- Some metrics and data points could use better explanation of what their purpose is and how they should be leveraged
- Much shorter downtime
- Less outages
- Ability to catch errors and issues before customers see them
The onboarding process with Catchpoint is very easy, and their are always Support, Sales, Account Managers, and Subject Matter Experts available to get you going, answer questions, help setup initial testing and data, and provide solid documentation. They are a non-judgmental group that puts the customers first and not only hears, but truly listens to feedback.
Catchpoint is great for Synthetic monitoring, alerting, general internet reporting, and fully understanding all types of data around edge services. They don't do a lot of internal tracing or application monitoring right now, but we have leveraged their Enterprise servers within our data centers as well as their nodes all around the world to get a good idea of how our services are performing.
