Overall Satisfaction with Celonis

We partnered with Celonis to improve our purchase to pay and order to cash end-to-end processes across the organization at the group level, including all major local areas. For example, in the area of purchase to pay, we addressed several critical issues that could improve our operational cost, streamline the process, and deliver world-class service to our suppliers. We have addressed objectives around spend reduction, working capital optimization, labor productivity, and compliance. Some of the key metrics we keep track of are focused on payment behavior. This includes duplicate payments prevention, on-time payment rate improvements (late payment prevention and early payment avoidance), and touchless invoice/automation opportunities to increase efficiency.

  • Monitoring and control dashboards.
  • Notification and action before the issues occur.
  • Continuous improvement.
  • ML technology under the hood.

Cons

  • Improve training to be similar to the guided Snap demos with technology such as WalkMe.
  • Improve suggestions and highlight potential issues or anomalies while exploring the process map.
  • Improve navigation around the tool so it is more intuitive.
  • It was hard to track the realized value, which made us create a specific KPI for it to justify the cost.
  • It is not easy to operate if you need to involve a lot of people.
  • The cost per non-analyst user is high if used at a bare minimum, so we need to carefully choose who has access to the tool.
Celonis is the superior tool in the RFP process due to the level of detail and analysis it provides to the user. It is well recognized among the large corporations and provides the right level of support to drive change throughout the organization.
Celonis helped us digitize our processes in group services and open the door to many opportunities for simplification and automation around those activities.

I believe Celonis is one of the best tools on the market if you really want to understand how your process works in reality. All you need is a consistent digital footprint. I have been part of many lean six sigma projects and usually what people tell you is not what really happens behind the scenes, due to so many variations of each process. Celonis can open the door behind the systems so you see what those process deviations are and understand why they occur. I see the Celonis tool as very useful in the area of group services, where you can understand how your transactions flow around the different systems. It is less appropriate with the physical flows in manufacturing where sometimes there is no digital footprint. In that case, more transitional LSSG methods could be better utilized.
