Easy way to steer traffic!
Overall Satisfaction with Chartbeat
Our company uses Chartbeat to track trending online content that will translate to our other departments' use of promoting those stories or not.
Pros
- How many people are viewing a certain story
- Which stories we could follow up on
- What stories do well within the communities we serve
Cons
- Search function could be better at finding prior stories
- Seeing the specific social interactions a story is having
- It's provided perspective on our reach
- It's given clarity on what stories work or what doesn't work
- It's offered guidance on what we can do to promote content
It's fantastic to know what our readers are interacting with at a certain time, or what story is getting traction to open avenues to further story digging. It also allows us to step up promotion or post it more to get more traffic.
I haven't ventured too much into using it for analyzing engagement, but I am able to easily use the real-time function to see what is being interacted with the most at a certain point.
Concurrents definitely is something we look at to help organize the homepage and learn more about what is being selected by readers. It also shows us what old content may be resurfacing, signaling to us what else we can post online to fit the search.
