Overall Satisfaction with Chartbeat

We used Chartbeat to see what was doing well on social media platforms and our website in order to better curate content that will be interesting to our listeners and followers. It gave us a great understanding of what trends our followers were interesting in and helped curate our choices.
  • It's helpful in showing what content is doing well
  • What content is popular among readers you can follow up
  • How the website is doing so that I can better organize the homepage
  • Being able to see social media on various pages the story is shared on
  • We were able to curate our episodes
  • We got more weekly listeners
We get to up our monthly listener rate because I can see what posts our listeners interact with the most and act accordingly which has made our listeners feel heard and valued and important to the content curating process.
It's easy to use and understand, which can't be said for all data-tracking sites that I've used in the past. It's easy for me to navigate and I didn't need to Google anything in order to find what I needed.
I use the engagement metrics the most considering I use it mostly for social media seeing as we're a podcast primarily. So that way I can gauge whether followers prefer certain pictures over others or how comments change based on the content and what that means for our curation process.
This has less-so been a make or break metric for us because we're primarily a podcast so we used Chartbeat mostly for social media posts but when we do use reader engagement metrics its' helpful to know how long readers stay on our page and if we have recurring readership because it's a good gauge on whether or not our content is not only being read but also enjoyed.
I used Parse.ly before I used Chartbeat. We shifted away from Parse.ly because it's social standing wasn't as good, it was mostly for site readership and we needed a bigger concentration on social media that Parse.ly couldn't provide. It's not listed, but we now use Social Flow which has a much more comprehensive understanding of social media metrics that are much more specific.
