Secure Connection Absolute Protection
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco AnyConnect
Cisco AnyConnect was instrumental to the establishment of efficient and secure connections to company resources, and it is applicable for our middleware and automation workers. It has some characteristics of something like effective software, in as much as it can boast of strong performance despite high traffic. Through its design, the user interface has no technical barrier to its usage.
Pros
- Secure remote access and a strong authentication system that includes fingerprints and passwords.
- Cisco AnyConnect has features of reconnecting and staying connected with VPN again automatically once the connection to the internet is regained.
- Cisco AnyConnect also offers support for Web and Android devices apart from Windows, Mac, and Linux
Cons
- Cisco AnyConnect can use the system resources as long as the program is being run.
- Account activation may be very difficult when connecting from areas requiring captive portal login, if certain settings are not allowed.
- By default, it is possible to request the user to authenticate again at specific intervals.
- Having the possibility to access the systems and the necessary data from any place can be a major benefit of implementing flexible working conditions.
- Through the implementation of a strong encrypted connection and the capabilities in authentication, our risk of a data breach on this site has been minimized.
- The features offered by Cisco AnyConnect streamlined regulations that our industry requires and released much of the burden of implementing procedures on me.
The strong features regarding Cisco AnyConnect are its security that ensures all data conveyed over the network is protected, remote seamless access to other applications in an organization acts as if in the office, and flexible policies that may be applied across the remote connection.
I evaluated a couple of vendors, such as FortiClient and Malwarebytes, but Cisco AnyConnect won simply because of integration with our existing Cisco equipment. The GUI was not very visually appealing, and its main focus seemed to be on endpoint security, while the company's goal was secure and direct remote access.
