Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MX
We use the MX Firewall with advanced security as the first line of defence for my network. The dashboard is very user friendly and helps me see the health of my network and where we can improve. We have been able to utilize the ability to deploy right out of the box, making setup and installation very easy.
Pros
- Protection of the network through whitelisting
- URL Filtering
- Manageability via Meraki Dashboard
- Licensing and Device status via Meraki Dashboard
- Set up and installation of the MX device
Cons
- The Licensing Model should be simplified; Co-term doesn't work for everyone.
- Better security reporting from the Dashboard for MX Devices, 2 weeks isn't enough in most cases, 30/60/90 would be helpful.
- A positive is the warranty length for these devices, I don't have to worry that I'll have to buy another during its useful life thanks to lifetime warranty.
- I have been able to see increased productivity through content filtering.
The time it takes to install these devices and pinpoint issues is greatly reduced with Cisco Meraki MX. This increases our ability to focus more on client uptime and spend less time diagnosing. Clients enjoy the simplicity of manageability through the dashboard when they are managing the devices on their own.
We utilize a diverse selection of network and IOT devices, MX makes it simple to integrate and not be tied to a single device line. This allows us to use the devices we enjoy using rather than getting forced into device lines that may or may not be our favorite flavor. Our clients like this as well; they don't need to upgrade or move to newer products to accommodate limitations of a new firewall.
The reliability of Cisco Meraki MX devices plays a huge role in this; customer support and the ability to resolve problems quickly put Cisco Meraki above the rest. The manageability through the dashboard is unmatched.
