Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization uses Cloudflare to protect our website and serve content much faster via the CDN services.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Content Delivery: high uptime.
Content Delivery: fast page loads.
Security: prevents attacks.
Supports nonprofits.

Cons

Need some technical knowledge to implement.

Return on Investment

Reduced outages: Serves pages even if the server is buggy.
Prevents attacks with IP based rules/logic.
Increases page load speed for rural users - > increasing conversion rates.

Superfast. The process is fairly easy if you know what you are doing technically. We did implement some additional features thanks to the nonprofit program, and Cloudflare support was fantastic for setting that up. All in, we were up and running with 30+ domains in less than a week.

Support Rating

Cloudflare support understands how crucial it is that websites are up and running constantly. Lost uptime is lost money. They have amazing support for non-critical issues and even an "attack" support if your website is under attack. We had to use this when we were attacked by Eastern European countries. We were able to shut down the attack and resume business thanks to their help.

Likelihood to Recommend

Cloudflare is literally a must-use for any organization and its website. Just the free version helps with minifying JS, CSS, and more to increase page loads speeds. I can't think of a reason that every website would NOT implement it.
