Overall Satisfaction with Cloudflare

We use Cloudflare for many services both internally and for our customers. The main usage is to speed up the website by using the Cloudflare cache. But we use also some security features such as Cloudflare Access, WAF, and their DDOS protection. Recently, we started to use it also for the registrar of our domains.
  • Caching.
  • DDoS protection.
  • Access rules.
  • Pricing for small environments.
  • "Worry free" website publication.
  • DDoS protection.
  • Easy to use WAF rules.
  • Security features.
Cloudflare proved to be the winning choice over its competitors because it was the only solution that's so complete. The other solutions we analyzed were convincing for the caching/CDN aspect but had gaps in other aspects such as security or DDoS protection. Cloudflare also offers additional features such as Access, the ability to register domains, WAF, etc.
Onboarding was different based on the Cloudflare edition used. For "free" and "business" plans we were able to do everything by ourselves, by reading the very well documentation provided by Cloudflare. For "enterprise" plan we were followed by a Cloudflare engineer that helped us to set up everything and give us some tricks to use the solution in the best way.
We were lucky that we contacted support very few times, most of them for asking questions and not to report problems. But, anyway, we found very prepared engineers, and the responses were quick and precise. They helped us to solve any kind of issue and the communication was smooth and propositive.

The Okta Identity Cloud, Sumo Logic, pfSense, HCL Notes (formerly from IBM), HCL Domino (formerly IBM Domino), OpenVPN Access Server, Slack, Zoom, JW Player, Vimeo, Remote Desktop Manager, Devolutions Server
In my opinion, Cloudflare should be used for any website, from the smallest to the largest. The features they offer, even only in the free version, are very interesting and allow you to secure - almost - any website quickly and with minimal technical skills. In addition, the caching functions allow us to speed up access to websites by the public while lightening the web servers.
