Overall Satisfaction with Crimson Hexagon, now part of Brandwatch
We use Crimson Hexagon to do real time and past social monitoring for our clients. Our whole planning department has been trained and is using the tool. It helps us address share of voice within our clients and their competitors. Im addition to share of voice, it helps us to gather audience insights about current and potential customers.
Pros
- Allows us to use firehose for Twitter in the past.
- Helps us discern audience affinities and create custom audiences.
- Also has a smaller social account monitoring tool that can be used.
Cons
- You can only set up a finite number of searches within the platform. If you hit the limit you have to delete one to make another.
- With the social listening tool we can learn what a client's audience is saying about them. From these themes we can respond or act accordingly.
In terms of content and data offering, Crimson stacks up to NetBase very well. Crimson also offers their social platform services which NetBase does not have. The one aspect that keeps NetBase on top in our office is the fact that we can create close to unlimited topics within our office with the NetBase tool, where as Crimson is limited.

20 - The majority of Crimson users are advertising planners. There are also a handful of social/digital analysts that use the product more heavily than the planners.
