Overall Satisfaction with Deputy

We use Deputy across all our casual employees across the company. It solved a problem we had with timesheets being inaccurate as people did not complete the manual time sheets or it was time consuming to calculate the exact minutes that people we working. It also helps sending out rosters.

Pros

Cons

  • GPS - is not accurate too many error in signing on too far away.
  • Taking information like payrates, etc. from our account program, feels like double entry.
  • Printing the roster directly from Deputy to have a paper copy in the factory.
  • Time saved.
  • Improved payroll accuracy.
  • Easy planning of staff rosters.
We have not used any other time record keeping software. We did price up different time clocks but this appeared to be the better way to go for our growing company. We have been very impressed with the time saving that Deputy has helped us achieve. Way better than how we were doing it.

It is quite easy for the basic stuff that we do, I haven't looked into further than timesheet recording and roster. I am not that tech savvy so I have not had the time to explore. I wish there was a better way to print the roster for a paper copy, or when entering new employees it wasn't double entry.
It was awhile ago that we implemented Deputy, but I remember it being quite easy and seamless. The only issue is some of our staff do not have smart phones so we need to sign them in manually on our own devices as we do not have a central device in the factory.
We find the timesheet keeping great as our staff used to do paper timesheets and it was very time consuming each payroll. We now approve the timesheets each evening and transferring it into our account program is a lot quicker. We also enjoy the fact that the roster can be done in the same place and any changes can be sent at a click of a button.
