Overall Satisfaction with Deputy
Deputy runs our weekly schedule and day-to-day tasks for us. I create the rosters usually a month in advance and staff can confirm each shift. Staff can enter in their own unavailability which helps with my scheduling and it's easy for them to find their own replacement if they're unable to make a shift.
- Scheduling
- Staff unavailability
- Timesheets
- Would like the ability to submit timesheets from a mobile, it's hard when I've already left the office for the day. You can do timesheets from a mobile while viewing the desktop site but it's fiddly.
- Saved so much time
- Makes the scheduling more professional than a spreadsheet
- Payroll accuracy
BrightHR was frustrating. One of my staff already uses BrightHR at another job of theirs and when they tried to log in to our business to check the roster they didn't have the ability to swap businesses. The only solution BrightHR came up with was for my staff to create another email address to create another log-in. This didn't make sense to me, this left them open to missing shifts or important notices that may have occurred at either business

Evaluating Deputy and Competitors
Yes - BrightHR - there was a login issue with staff using BrightHR at a second job and they needed to create a new email and login to see their schedules. This, I felt, left them open to missing shifts or important notices.

The usability has been great. We haven't had any issues with any aspect of deputy, and we will be looking into how to utilise it in more of the business
Not really, but I don't make a habit of second-guessing business decisions.
Deputy Implementation
- Implemented in-house
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled
- I have been using Deputy for so long, I can't remember there being any issues

- Scheduling - it visually looks great and is very easy to use!
- If I accidentally click "repeat for the rest of the month" without filling in the days I need it can be a little annoying to remove incorrect shifts - an undo feature would be great!
Yes - Yes, love the mobile interface but wish I could approve timesheets from the mobile too
