Use Cases and Deployment Scope

To the best of my knowledge DiscoverOrg is being used in the Sales and Marketing divisions. It solves the business problem of not knowing the appropriate contacts within the customer base, and not having accurate contact information.

Pros and Cons

DiscoverOrg does a good job of gathering "mostly" accurate customer information by organization, which allows the user to reach the customer relatively quick.
DiscoverOrg does a good job of providing relevant customer and company information. which provides the user inroads and awareness of the customers issues and current environment.
DiscoverOrg integrates well with Salesforce.com, which allows the information to be transferred seamlessly with this CRM.

DiscoverOrg segments customer access, therefore requiring additional costs for broader departmental information.
Now that DiscoverOrg has acquired ZoomInfo, I would love to be able to access this information as well.

Return on Investment

DiscoverOrg has saved me numerous hours of research by providing information on the technology an organization is using, and the contacts at the organization.

Alternatives Considered

ZoomInfo

Quite frankly, based on my usage, the information at ZoomInfo was typically more accurate than the information at DiscoverOrg. Now that DiscoverOrg has acquired ZoomInfo, perhaps the accuracy of the data will improve.

Likelihood to Recommend

DiscoverOrg is a great tool for researching account information and finding the appropriate customers with their contact information. DiscoverOrg is not a good social networking sight (of course, I'm sure that's not what it's meant to be).
