Overall Satisfaction with DocuSign

We used DocuSign as an integral part of our accounting department's journal entry and account reconciliation processes. We implemented DocuSign as part of an effort to allow our team to work remotely, comply with SOX documentation requirements, and reduce our reliance on paper within our accounting department. Entries and Reconciliations were submitted to the reviewer via DocuSign and the review was completed within the DocuSign envelope.
  • Files are retained within each user's account for excellent data retention.
  • Files are date and time stamped to show when the review was completed.
  • Workflows and routing systems are easily created - no more shuffling papers across desks.
  • Only limited review notes can be added to a DocuSign Envelope.
  • Workflows/review orders cannot be saved as a default.
  • Reviewing complex files is easier on paper than on a computer within DocuSign
  • Reduces printing costs.
  • Enables a remote workforce - reducing necessary office footprint.
  • Reduced need for paper file storage in the office.
DocuSign is a great tool to allow a remote workforce to sign off on contracts and documents. In situations where feedback is required, there are limited avenues to return a file for changes. Signers have limited options to mark up documents within DocuSign - we were limited to initials and signatures. This makes providing evidence of review a little challenging.

1 - We have 1 employee who, in addition to her day to day tasks, supports the administration of DocuSign accounts for all employees.
She is responsible for creating accounts for employees that request them and deactivating accounts for departing employees.
  • Contract review and approval
  • Signing HR documents, such as offer letters, year end evaluations, merit increase and promotion documents
  • Sending sales agreements to customers for review
  • Workflow and review process for journal entries
  • Workflow and review process for account reconciliations
The product is a great tool for a remote workforce. As the company gets bigger, adding users to the account can be rather expensive.
We considering providing read/sign only access for certain individuals and providing full access to other users as necessary to reduce costs.

DocuSign Implementation

DocuSign is easy to use and implement across a broad range of computer literacy levels. It was very easy to mirror our existing paper process in an electronic form using DocuSign's software.
Change management was minimal - We had a group of users at all levels develop and test our process before rolling out DocuSign to review and approve journal entries and reconciliations. We hosted a training for all new users and had one person as a point of contact for questions about how to use the software.
We made a clean switch from paper to DocuSign and never looked back.
  • Satisfy auditors that a review was well documented for SOX compliance

DocuSign Training

This product is very intuitive and easy to learn on your own. There is a very thorough guide available online to answer questions about how to use the system.

DocuSign Support

DocuSign support is very responsive, however we do not rely on them as the system is very intuitive.

Yes - Mobile interface is great when you already know what you are looking at. I would not suggest using the mobile interface when attempting to review a contract.
The mobile UI allows you to generate your own signature by signing on the screen of the device and is easy to click through signature areas.
