Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox
As an administrator in an educational setting, I have been using Dropbox professionally for years. It is easy to store and send documents, share files with other Dropbox users and non-Dropbox users, and I don't have to worry about storing large documents on my computer because of the large storage capacity in my Dropbox folders. I also have the peace of mind that I can access my files at home if I need to, because I can log onto my Dropbox wherever I am--even on my phone or iPad. The mobile application lets me access files on the go if I need to.
- Can store large files
- Is easy to organize and re-organize as needed
- Sharing files and documents with other Dropbox and non-Dropbox users is very easy.
- Have to remember to sync online-only, since large files will take up space on your computer
- Sometimes the "sort-by" options could be better in the application
- Faster ability to send folders or lots of documents
- Can get documents to publisher quickly
- Very quick set-up and ready to use.
I really like the design and layout of Dropbox, and it just seems easier to use. It can fully integrate with your computer with the desktop application, and the company pricing makes it easy for everyone to have access and use collectively. While most people do have Google accounts, not everyone has experience using Google Drive and we don't have a professional set-up with our institution (that I'm aware of).
