Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

We use Dropbox as both an archive for projects, a community drive where projects can be shared, and a way to share files between both colleagues and clients. We have had nothing but success in all if the uses we have put Dropbox through. Being able to access files from outside the office has made the tool invaluable.

Pros

  • Storage
  • Archiving
  • sharing
  • overwriting

Cons

  • Lag time seems to be slow
  • At times, folders cannot be created where they are wanted
  • No notification when a duplicate file is being loaded
  • Lets us have control on roles - increasing ROI
  • Not a large outlay to get started
  • Control is key
Dropbox gives us more control over what we are trying to accomplish, and that is key. Egnyte wanted such a large outline of capital to get their system up, and then we would become married to just their system. I didn't like that because then we were at their mercy, and with Dropbox I still feel like we are in control.

Do you think Dropbox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Dropbox's feature set?

Yes

Did Dropbox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Dropbox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Dropbox again?

Yes

When we have had to be in the field and make a change to a file, we can go thru Dropbox to get the file in question, make any appropriate changes, and then be able to reload the file. Fault there may lie with internet speed, but we can always get our job done.
