Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox

I use my Dropbox to connect computers at different stations. I like it because I always have access to the most recent versions of the different documents that I'm working on and don't have to worry about being logged into a server or accidentally saving an outdated copy over the newest version.

Pros

  • syncing between station
  • Cost = free!
  • Saved document history

Cons

  • More space for free accounts
  • Notification when copies are conflicting
  • Ability to open online documents without having to download them.
  • It's allowed me to work from home easier; I have access to photos, Word documents, and PDFs.
  • I like that I can share links to file or folders.
  • I wish it was easier to see what changes others have made.
For me, it's great . . . as long as I don't have to try to include other people. It's hard for me to monitor what other people are doing/have done. I like that I can open documents directly and not have to download them and then upload them again later. I like it.
I like to use OneDrive for photos/log-term storage. It gives me more storage space but seems to take longer to sync than Dropbox. That's why I use Dropbox for file sharing, current work, and photos that I'm using at this moment. I had Dropbox first because I had the free version; now I have it because I use it with others.

I use Dropbox for syncing my own files and for saving photos from my phone (so they sync wirelessly). The only spot where it doesn't work out as well is when multiple people have a file open at the same time; it often created a conflicting copy that I have to merge later.
