Overall Satisfaction with Expensify

Our company uses American Express for our purchases, and cards are issued to certain team members. Expensify is integrated with our company Amercian Express accounts. The bills land in Expensify after the charges are completed. Once the charges are available in Expensify, I reconcile the charges with the receipts from the cards.

Pros

  • Ease of finding the transactions
  • Not having to look for the monthly American Express statement
  • Keeping totals as current as possible

Cons

  • I think the charges should show up instantaneously
  • Some of the charges I see are combined
  • Some of the charges cannot be matched to the receipt
  • The transactions are relatively easy to match to the Amex statement
  • Waiting on the transactions to show up in Expensify can be tedious
  • Expensify will recommend using the classic version and it takes a little time for it to move from the new Expensify to Expensify Classic
The ease of use is very helpful. Weather emailing receipts or attaching the receipts to the transactions, it really is user friendly. It is not as complicated as using a spreadsheet to keep track of spending. My only concerns are transactions not being simultaneous and transactions being broken out or combined - this normally happens with our hotel bookings.
Expensify by far passes Excel on keeping track of expenses and reconciling. The report function is also relatively easy to use. The ability to graph is an excellent asset as well.

When you need to reconcile the statements of a credit card/Amex, the charges take a couple of days to show up and if you enter the transactions manually the transaction is reflected twice, and we do not have the ability to erase the transactions. And some charges are combined

We use expensify to track all of our company spending and we have already subscribed to a multi year subscription.
