Expensify Efficiency
Overall Satisfaction with Expensify
We use Expensify to easily submit our monthly expense reports to upper management for approval. Expensify solves the burdensome problem of remembering expenses, compiling receipts, and generating a manual report using an Excel spreadsheet. Many employees (including myself) were submitting late expense reports and our management is using Expensify to make the process much easier.
Pros
- Easy to access online portal whether using a mobile device or desktop app
- Receipts can be uploaded in a breeze and automatically categorized
- Expense Reports are submitted monthly on autopilot
- Expenses for gas is calculated on the app by entering the starting/ending destinations.
Cons
- It would be helpful if the reports section could provide a summary of the monthly totals (I only saw I was able to generate reports with each individual transaction listed)
- I understand a monthly subscription charge is paid at the beginning of the month. It would be helpful to not charge a monthly fee if an employee did not have any expenses that month to submit.
- Positives include - timely expense reports to reconcile our fiscal year financials
- Negatives include - the monthly service fee per employee (even if no expenses were generated that month) - it is not cost effective for ALL of our employees to utilize the application.
The Expensify platform is more user friendly than Concur. I also didn't have the ability to add the Concur application to my mobile device at my previous employer (that feature may be available now since years have since passed). At the time, Concur was not submitting monthly reports automatically either, I would still have to go in and upload receipts, categorize them and then submit it to management myself for approval.
