Overall Satisfaction with EZ Texting

We use EZ Texting to send mass messages to youth and parents that are part of the youth program at our church.
  • Mass texting for free. Other web texting companies we tried do not offer a free tier. While limited in the number of messages per month (without switching to a paid tier), it has allowed us to send our most urgent communications quickly and easily.
  • The website is easy to use and intuitive. The preview of the message being composed is especially helpful.
  • Tech support is usually pretty responsive. Even on the free tier, the times I've had to contact tech support I have gotten a clear answer quickly.
  • In the free tier, the allotted messages per month don't always show up correctly or on the same day each month. This has led to times when we were unable to send messages when we needed to.
  • Users get no reimbursement for messages that fail. One particular instance, the service was down for most of the eastern half of the United States with no information about this at all on the website. After contacting technical support, I was assured that messages sent during the downtime would be delivered several hours later once the problem was corrected. They were never sent but were still deducted from our maximum monthly message limit.
  • The website is very slow.
  • The mobile app does not work correctly (iPhone 6s Plus on latest iOS) and when it does work, has no functionality to send messages.
  • EZ Texting has made it much easier on me to contact parents within our organization. Prior to EZ Texting, I had to send multiple messages from my iPhone because Apple limits the number of people a text can be addressed to.
Amazon's texting service through the AWS, several iOS apps, and Textedly. The iOS apps were garbage, as even with them Apple's text recipient limit still prevented us from contacting everyone via a single message. In choosing between the others, EZ Texting was the only one to offer a completely free tier.
Great for those who are sending very few messages often or many messages very rarely. However, if you need to send more messages than the free tier allows, there are other services which are much cheaper.
