Pros

  • When I started, I used Gong to upskill myself by watching other top AEs deals back from start to finish and getting up to speed.
  • Post meeting administration. It allows me not to need to take notes anymore.
  • Coaching - receive coaching and run strategy sessions with the team.

Cons

  • Continue to improve the AI
  • Have more MEDDPICC automation
  • Faster time to get back up to speed on onboarding
  • Save time each week on administration
  • Better coaching
It's very easy to use and is essential to any AE's role.
The AI has gotten better over time. Now it's very good at being helpful when asking questions on the deal and summarising notes for Salesforce admin.
I've only used Gong. Nothing else really compares.

We use Clari alongside Gong. Clari is better for Forecasting, but we used Gong for the conversation analytics.

Did Gong live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Gong go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Gong again?

Yes

It's well suited for any SaaS based selling company that is selling software.

It can be less well suited to areas when the sale is much more transactional and less complex.

That said I don't see a specific scenario where something like this isn't going to be beneficial for the team.
