Overall Satisfaction with GoodData
We use GoodData to connect and visualise various data sets. We have several dashboards for different services, overview dashboards etc. The usage is wide across all the functions (data analysts, marketers, sales reps, managers, ). We use GoodData with an ETL tool Keboola because they have a goood integration and it's quite easy to load data from Keboola to GoodData.
Visualising data, daily check-ups, showing trends, visualising LTV, page visits and many other metrics.
Pros
- Telemetry
- Dashboard organization
Cons
- Metrics have to be always created, there's no default like SUM(metric)
- Speed
- Documentation
- ROI monitoring and improvement
- CLV monitoring and improvement
Starting with one dataset is quite easy but it is time consuming because of all the metrics you have to create. Building a bigger data model took us several months (but this time contains also data preparation). Maintaing bigger data sets is more tricky but it is managable mainly thanks to the tech support.
I like the user management that is quite simple but still provides several roles. Our users like the "choose only" option in filters that is missing in some of the other buisness intelligence tools.
GoodData seems less user friendly and doesn't provide that many visualization options so we are slowly moving to other solution in part of the company. There are still teams that plan to continue with GoodData and use React code in orther to supply missing functions.
