Overall Satisfaction with Google Domains
It's used for all domain registrations. Instead of using a myriad of other registrars like DreamHost, Gandi, or any of the others, everything is registered through Google Domains. It has a nice interface and integrates well with other Google products, which we make pretty heavy use of.
- Finding alternative domains.
- Nice overview of domains and their status
- Clear expiration labels
- Cheaper for some TLD's like .io
- Provide exclusive TLD's
- .io domains are a bit more expensive with Google Domains than they are at Gandi.net.
- In general, prices are very competitive.
DreamHost's registrations are tightly coupled with their other services, none of which we use. It's overkill for just domain registration. GoDaddy is also overkill for the same reason as DreamHost.
Gandi.net is a fair comparison and is probably slightly cheaper. However, having everything under one Google account is very attractive. Ultimately, it's the reason I use Google Domains instead of Gandi.net.
