Overall Satisfaction with Google Forms

Google Forms is used internally across various departments to create quick surveys. It's very quick and easy to set up a new survey, and checking in on employee mental health and happiness is extremely important during [a] shelter in place. Forms help us address communication challenges due to lack of face-to-face interactions, and allows us to get data quickly while being able to customize surveys as we go.
  • Ease of Customization
  • Understandable UI with no Tutorials
  • Anyone can create and launch a survey in minutes
  • It's free (for personal use)
  • Customization of look and feel is lacking
  • Only 4 background color options
  • There are only 4 fonts to choose from
  • Difficult to filter out false responses from people who may have gotten the link
  • Lack of logic options and functionality
  • It's difficult to track ROI since Google Forms is used less formally
  • [The] positive impact is the actionable results we receive from surveys
  • [The] impact is highly dependent on how well the questions are asked, and how seriously the survey is taken by employees
Google Forms is like SurveyMonkey, but with a fraction of the features. It does feel like an underpowered SurveyMonkey, but it is much more affordable. The free version of Google Forms is fine for smaller internal surveys, but if you needed to do usability testing or utilize logic, then SurveyMonkey is the way to go.

Do you think Google Forms delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Forms's feature set?

No

Did Google Forms live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Google Forms go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Google Forms again?

Yes

Google Forms is extremely easy to use and the tour that they offer is likely unneeded for most regular computer users. The drop downs are self-explanatory for the types of questions you'd like to ask, you can duplicate questions, and everything is saved in Google Drive. If a user is confused, then the help features and tour can provide guidance.
If a user is confused or has questions regarding Google Forms, the ? button at the bottom right provides all the support articles you need. You can take a tour in case you accidentally closed out the tour option in the beginning, and the Help Center has many articles to answer questions without needing to chat or call in for Google Support help.
Google Forms is well suited for employee pulse surveys, customer satisfaction surveys, intake forms for contracts, voting for informal/formal outings and events, nominations and elections of certain officers or club team members, and more! Google Forms is less appropriate when the stakes are higher and there is highly sensitive or confidential information involved. You wouldn't want to include financial results or request sensitive confidential information in Google Forms.
