Overall Satisfaction with Heap

We use Heap to analyze user behavior in our B2B SaaS platform. Heap is the missing link [that] connects the dots for us between the data that is in our database to the way that our end-users are actually interacting with our platform. As our primary tool for user engagement, Heap allows us to track adoption of new features released as well as analyze the engagement health of other parts of our platform.

Heap is primarily used by our Product Management and Design organizations.

One current project that we are using Heap for is to analyze the value of each of our platform features. We are using it to track engagement over time for features so that we can drill down into how much of a value-add each feature is for our platform. This helps us make product decisions by focusing on improving the features with high adoption.
  • Collaborate on User Engagement reports easily with a distributed team.
  • Analyze both mobile and web user behavior.
  • Visualize user behaviors in understandable charts and diagrams.
  • Takes a while to onboard and understand how to use the platform.
  • In order to use it proficiently, technical knowledge is necessary.
  • User Interface is not totally intuitive.
  • New to Heap, so have not yet measured the impact.
  • Fundamentally changed our decision-making process to facilitate data-driven decision making.
Heap is great if you know how to use it! It takes some time to get organized and to fully understand the interface. Once you understand the basics, it immediately adds value and insights can be gathered. A working knowledge of CSS Selectors is highly recommended if you want to be successful with Heap.
I have never run into any issues with Heap's performance. In fact, I have never even had the thought that "Heap seems a little slow today." Well done to the Heap team with maintaining a high-quality SaaS platform.
My team has not used any other analytics tools.

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Heap is well suited for Product teams that have a working technical knowledge of their platform and that are willing to invest the time to get up and running with the tool. Overall, it is a very powerful tool in tracking and analyzing user behavior. However, as with any product analytics tool, Heap will take some time to get set up. Our team has been working with Heap for a few months now, and we are just starting to really understand how it can be a part of our day-to-day decision making process.

If you do not have the time to invest in learning Heap, then I would not recommend it for your team.
