Overall Satisfaction with Heap

Heap is currently, to my knowledge, being used by the marketing department at my company. It is used to address problems via conversion, traffic, from a SEO standpoint, and to help us justify any changes that need to be made to a page on the website. It also helps the department with benchmarking data and being able to create KPI's for further quarters.
  • Event Visualizer is a great asset for Heap. This is because for someone like me, who had no prior knowledge of how to navigate through these platforms is easily able to see how Heap tracks events and how many different areas of a page can be tracked.
  • Being able to create multiple dashboards to help with separating data within the departments.
  • Having a personal folder for yourself, once again when you're new to the platform it helps having your own space to make mistakes and learn on your own - without disturbing the rest of the company.
  • It can be very slow at times, it needs more time to compute data.
  • There's a bit of a learning curve; it's not hard when you get the hang of it but we've had lower adoption among the company because of it, which is a shame because it's a great tool.
  • It's hard to clean up events that I defined poorly, should be easier to do so.
  • Conversion Growth
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Improved User Experience
I had a lot of difficulties learning Heap in the beginning. It was a hard learning curve to overcome, and I still am not as confident as I would like to be. However, it is true that once you get the hang of it it's smooth sailing. I feel like there should be an initiative created for individuals like myself, who want to learn but don't know where to start. I did do the Heap training lessons, but I feel like there should be a very specifically curated module for people who have no idea how to work around data- but want to learn.
Heap lags, and can be very slow in giving results most of the time.
I like Heap because of its event visualizer, the ability to create a story with the data and see past the users experience on the page (as in being able to see where users come from, and where they go afterwards) this information has be incredibly helpful. However, Google Analytics was easier for me to understand, and I appreciate the easy analytics I get without having to define anything, Heap should consider having a function like that (also- add in a Bounce Rate!).

Do you think Heap delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Heap's feature set?

Yes

Did Heap live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Heap go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Heap again?

Yes

Specific scenarios where Heap can be well suited is in a company where conversion is important. A company can utilize Heap to benchmark data each month and see the conversion performance. Using Heap can also help guide departments in understanding what areas of the page are not attracting users and what are, thus helping create change and new strategies.
