Overall Satisfaction with Insightly
Insightly is used as a standalone CRM for our business. We use it to keep client information as well as history of activity (e.g. emails, phone calls etc)
Pros
- Customisable fields
- Simple UI and layout
- Email mapping
Cons
- Use of formulas and manipulation of data. e.g. DOB fields showing an Age
- Integration with document management, e.g. Box
- Client experience has improved as there is far greater visability over client activity and the ability to customise various last engagement points.
Our use case is limited to basic CRM management due to the limited functionality and application.
Insightly is basic CRM functionality for us, and we use both to leverage our needs.
Do you think Insightly delivers good value for the price?

No
Did Insightly live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Insightly go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Insightly again?
Yes
Insightly Feature Ratings
Using Insightly
15 - The team is cross functional, with employees across areas of management (leadership), the professional client services team, as well as the administration team. The structure of our CRM accomodates a consistent layout, however the management team have a seperate reporting structure development on the platform. Overall, the use case is similar.
1 - Our Chief Operating Officer manages the platform, including initial set up and structure, as well as ongoing maintenance, data security and data integrity measures. Given the nature of Insightly as a lite and customisable platform, It is sensible to have an understanding of similar systems, and technology generally to ensure API's and fields can be set up correctly.
- Recent activity (task history)
- Client/prospect list tracking
- Clients per adviser
- We never had such visability over recent client activity as we do now, which improves governance as well as broader team engagement.
- We don't use the Task management system very much. We could look into this better.
Evaluating Insightly and Competitors
Yes - Iress xPlan. The system was heavily under developed and lacked the customisation ability. It did not have the ability to monitor client relationship components very well as it was mostly founded on industry specific requirements. Instead, we've seperated these out to newer technology platforms and use Insightly as a simple and effective CRM instead.
- Scalability
- Ease of Use
As discussed in my other answers, the ease of use is one of the biggest factors to use the Insightly platform. We can tailor fields in minutes and have this replicated across the broader platform for all users. This means we take control and tailor it to our use at all times, rather than paying developers for customisation.
We have a greater focus on data security and processes now, and we might consider factors such as where data is stored on the cloud (internationally or domestically) plus the use of multi factor authentication and other measures to ensure our client data is protected.
