Overall Satisfaction with Intuit Mailchimp
We use Intuit Mailchimp for B2C marketing emails and SMS, as well as the occasional B2B or internal email. We don't use it every day, but probably every week.
We needed a platform that could easily segment user groups and quickly send users promotional emails that were simple but well designed. We also inherited the platform after an acquisition.

Pros
- Audience segmentation
- Simple/Easy design
- Easy to use SMS system and verification
Cons
- The email platform doesn't provide a lot of options for customization
- The analytics are very barebones
- The analytics are also hard to navigate
- Higher open rate
- Higher promotion-based conversions
- Higher SMS open rates
When selling different product classes or at different locations, it's really easy to group audience members. It's nice being able to have users in multiple smaller segments, and also able to receive the most general / high level emails we send. It really helps being able to qualify leads in the platform.
- Segmentation
- Email marketing
- Reporting
In general, they have certainly been helpful. The email campaign works, thought it's certainly not as robust as it could be. As mentioned earlier, the segmentation is very good and works well. The reporting can definitely use some work. There's no one screen with all the relevant KPIs on it, so you have to go hunting to get all the data you want.
We've used the SMS integrations for both B2B and B2C marketing. We needed to use it on very short notice, and Intuit Mailchimp's system was able to verify our number very quickly. From that, we kept the texts super simple and it worked fine in the platform. Definitely a quality system.
In general, scaling has not been the best. If you need to send more sophisticated designs or complex automated programs, it's difficult to implement those things in the platform. With a few thousand contacts receiving an email or two a month, the platform can work perfectly fine. However, a really integrated and complex system would have a difficult time here.
Intuit Mailchimp is very similar to Campaign Monitor, though the email builder in Campaign Monitor looks better.
Salesforce is a much bigger beast. It allows for a lot more customization, and much better automation. However, the learning curve with that platform is much higher, and it's more difficult to use that platform to its full potential.
