Overall Satisfaction with Jama Connect

Jama Connect is being used as a requirements management tool at Varian. We're also using it for test management, DR handling, risk management, and document management.
  • Collaboration between users
  • Review module helps to bring users together and give tools for them to collaborate and approve
  • Having all resources in one place is great for having an easy-to-use and clean DHF
  • Jama Connect is a database of information at it's core. It would be nice to be able to query it like such.
  • It would be nice to be able to write queries to build our own custom reports
  • Faster product releases
  • Open mind to how PLC can be sped up in a safe manner
We expect to be able to release products faster while maintaining our safe RA/QA habits. We also expect to eliminate a lot of the unnecessary manual document creation. Using and reusing document templates in the software will help to ensure that our users are updating their doc templates often.
Very effective. Jama Connect allows us to collaborate, review, and trace without thought. Being able to put these crucial elements aside and focus on the content makes this tool invaluable. Other tools that don't do this well make you spend more effort on the tool and less on the product. Having the traceability being a key part of the collaboration with features like "suspect links" is also crucial, because the individual design inputs are equally important as how they all come together.
Yes - For a lot of teams Jama is replacing a requirements management software like ReqPro as well as a DR handling tool like Bugzilla. Combining tools like that is really valuable, but also Jama is prettier, and much easier to use.
Jama Connect is great at what it does, and so far, I have no real complaints about the ways that it has forced our teams to collaborate through the design inputs process and readdress good documentation practices.
